Save on Property Taxes!

Have you filed for Homestead Exemption yet?

Time to save you money on your property taxes!! If you purchased a home last year, or really at ANY time pay attention to this.  If you have already filed for Homestead Exemption on your Primary Residence, then this isn’t for you.

The deadline to file for homestead is fast approaching MIDNIGHT ON MARCH 1 ST. If you purchased a home in Brevard County that is your primary residence, you will need to file for this Homestead Exemption ASAP!! Here’s how:

First, you must have your Driver's License changed to your new address!

There are a few ways to do this- You can apply ONLINE, IN PERSON or you can MAIL-IN. The form is on the DMV website.

Locations: Titusville, Palm Bay, Melbourne, Viera, Merritt Island

You will need to know your Tax Account Number (simple to find online at bcpao.us - just plug in your name or address in the property search- or call/text me & I will get it to you ASAP) and the following:

Date Permanent Florida Residency Last Established

Date Moved Into Home

Marital Status/Relationship

Florida Driver's License Number and Florida Driver's License Issue Date 

Date of Birth

Florida Vehicle Tag Number

Brevard County Voter Registration No and Brevard County Voter Reg. Date Immigration Number and Issue Date

Current Employer

Employer Address and Phone Number

Home Phone Number

The address listed on last Tax Return

Social Security Number

 You MAY have Homestead Portability if you previously owned a home in Florida with Homestead- Be Sure to include that information when applying!! It can save quite a bit of money! This can also prevent a break in your tax savings.

If you do not file for your Homestead your taxes will INCREASE way more, which then will increase your monthly mortgage payment. Do not forget to do this!
