What Motherhood Has Taught Me – A Mother's Day Reflection

Mother’s Day is more than just flowers, cards, and breakfast in bed (though I’ll never turn down a hot cup of coffee!). It’s a chance to pause and reflect on the journey of motherhood—and the unexpected lessons that come with it. As a mom to two incredible girls, this day feels deeply personal. It’s a reminder of how much I’ve grown because of them—not just as a mother, but as a businesswoman and a human being.

When I think about the Space Coast, I think about families—just like mine—building lives along these sunny shorelines, navigating the beautiful chaos of work, school drop-offs, and everything in between. Being a realtor here is a gift, but it’s my girls who have been my greatest teachers.

Here are three lessons I didn’t know I needed until I became a mom:

1. Patience Is a Practice
You can’t sell homes, negotiate deals, or juggle multiple roles without patience—but motherhood takes that to a whole new level. From meltdowns in the grocery store to bedtime negotiations, my daughters have taught me how to slow down, breathe, and approach every moment with compassion. That same patience spills over into my career—whether I’m guiding first-time homebuyers or helping a family relocate to the Space Coast.

2. Time Is Fleeting—Live in the Moment
In real estate, timing is everything. But as a mom, I’ve learned that moments are everything. The messy, unfiltered, spontaneous ones. I’ve learned to stop chasing the clock and start savoring the now. Life moves fast—so does the market—but I’m choosing to be present for both.

3. Priorities Make or Break You
Before I became a mom, I wore my hustle like a badge of honor. Now, I wear motherhood the same way—with pride, but also with boundaries. I’ve learned to say no to what doesn’t serve my family and yes to what does. Real estate is a career that doesn’t always stick to 9 to 5, but because of my girls, I’ve mastered how to make space for family first. They’ve seen me work hard, take client calls in the car, run out the door early, and still show up at home, ready to laugh, dance in the kitchen, and listen to all the stories from their day.

They are the reason I do what I do—and the reason I do it well.

On this Mother’s Day, I want to celebrate the moms out there wearing multiple hats, showing up for their families and their dreams. And if you're looking for a home on the Space Coast—a place to grow, rest, and make memories—I’d be honored to help you find it.

From my family to yours, Happy Mother’s Day.
Here’s to the lessons, the laughter, and the love that shapes us.
