Summer on the Space Coast

Your go-to guide for fun, food, and family memories this season!

As a proud Space Coast resident and local realtor, one of my favorite things about this area is how summer seems to come alive with opportunity. There’s no shortage of memory-making moments for the whole family. Whether you're a local or planning to visit, here’s your ultimate guide to soaking up summer on the Space Coast—with a few of my personal favorites thrown in!

Family-Friendly Activities

Splash Pad & Playground at Sand Point Park – Titusville
A great spot for younger kids to cool off and play under the Florida sun. Pack a picnic and stay a while!

Brevard Zoo – Melbourne
Feed giraffes, kayak through the wetlands, or walk the treetop canopy trail. It’s an adventure every time!

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex – Merritt Island
Explore rockets, meet astronauts, and check the launch schedule—because seeing a live rocket launch never gets old.

Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier
Perfect for fishing, wave-watching, and grabbing an ice cream. It’s the essence of summer.

Kayaking & Paddleboarding in Cocoa Beach
Get out on the water and maybe even spot a manatee or two! Local outfitters like Fin Expeditions make it easy.

Local Restaurants to Try This Summer

4th Street Fillin’ Station – Cocoa Beach
A converted gas station with a funky vibe, craft beer, and the best tacos and loaded fries around.

Crydermans Barbecue – Cocoa & Melbourne
When you're in the mood for slow-smoked goodness, this is the place. Their brisket is a must-try.

El Leoncito – Titusville & Cocoa
This Cuban-Mexican restaurant has a huge menu, amazing margaritas, and a view of the launches if you time it right.

Grills Seafood Deck & Tiki Bar – Port Canaveral
A waterfront classic! Watch the cruise ships go by while enjoying fresh seafood and live music.

Backwater – Melbourne
Fun for breakfast or brunch. The tabletop griddles where you can make your own pancakes are a kid favorite!
