Buy your dream home + Choose the right school
Homes that are priced right are still selling fast in Brevard, even with school starting this week! It’s a great time to buy or sell because my schedule says so. I actually have several buyers relocating here as we speak, and I immediately think of the kids. New home, new school, new friends. It doesn’t have to be stressful or difficult. Here are some tips for finding the perfect home, in a new place, while getting ready to begin a new school year.
Look at the ratings!
Schools are very important when it comes to selecting a home for your family. Did you know that more than half of the homebuyers rate the quality of the local school district as a major factor influencing where they buy? Some even say the quality of the school is more important than home affordability.
What’s nearby?
I know I have a small list of must-haves nearby. Other than work, think about the community parks, grocery stores, shopping, and different attractions. It’s also important to look up what may be coming if it’s a newly developed area. Here in Brevard if the school is within 2 miles, there is no district-provided transportation.
Drive through at different times
to see what type of activity there is. If you are looking for a kid-friendly neighborhood, this is especially important. Make a wish list of what you’re looking for.

Meet new families
Use social media to join community groups and connect with other families. Libraries and community parks are also an easy way for kids to meet friends their age. Brevard County Parks & Rec have a lot of activity day camps available throughout the county for all ages during the school year.
This is always a top priority!
